After launching the 108-megapixel smartphone, Samsung is now working on a 600-megapixel sensor. The Galaxy S20 Ultra is with a 108-megapixel sensor.
Smartphone companies are focusing more on their cameras these days. That is why the number of camera sensors in smartphones along with megapixels is also increasing. Smartphones now have up to six cameras.
Yongin Park, head of Samsung’s sensor business team, has pointed out that the company is working on more megapixel sensors. He also said that the company’s plan is to create smaller camera sensors and get more eye resolution, which is said to be up to 500 megapixels.
The park has said that a 600-megapixel sensor can be made, though they have not elaborated on it. It is said that such image sensors can soon be used in autonomous vehicles, iOTs and drones.
While the company has not said how long the smartphone will be launched with this sensor, the company has said that it is working on it.
In a post on behalf of Samsung, he said that the company is not only working on increasing the sensor size, but also creating technology that will change the way the world has to interact in the future.
“Today, smartphones have cutting edge features, more screen to body ratio and slim design, so it’s to make the pixel’s ability as compact as possible,” said the head of the Samsung sensor team. On the other side, small pixel makes pictures dull.’
