Don’t miss the March 31 deadline for linking PAN to Aadhaar: Income Tax Department

Have you linked your Aadhaar to pan? If not, hurry up. The Income Tax Department has said that it is mandatory to link Aadhaar with PAN. By March 31, people should do this. The department has advised to adhere to this stipulated time frame. The income tax department said last month that if the permanent account number is not linked to Aadhaar by March 31, it will not work.
“This deadline is to be followed,” the department said in a social media post, “It is mandatory to link PAN with Aadhaar before March 31, 2020. You can do it through biometric Aadhaar verification or by visiting PAN service centres of NSDL and UTITSL.”

The department took to Twitter to put the video and said it was beneficial for the next. The video says that it can be done in two ways. First, this can be done by sending a message at 567678 or 56161. Message UIDAIPan space 12 digit Base space can be sent in the format of 10 digit PAN (UIDPAN12digit Aadhaar>10digitPAN>).

Secondly, PAN can be linked to Aadhaar through the department’s e-filing portal – www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in . According to official data, 30.75 crore PAN aadhaar has been added till January 27. 17.58 crore PAN is yet to be connected with Aadhaar.
